Business Analyst

DCM Services is a leading national provider of deceased account collection solutions. DCM Services helps protect client brands and maximize their recoveries through an innovative estate-focused approach to collections. Our proprietary Probate Finder® system enables us to find more estates, generate more recoveries and protect our client brands better than any solution available.
Specific responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
  • Creating custom as well as regular reports on operational metrics from a data warehouse using SQL server
  • Owning the scrub process for new client test files
  • Working closely with the rest of the Business Analytics team in planning analysis and providing customized data
  • Leading projects related to data enhancements through data append from external sources
  • Function as the primary liaison between the Business Analytics and the IT development and infrastructure teams
  • The Business Analyst will also lead and manage the process for defining and documenting business requirements, including collaborating with developers, end users, and various stakeholders to understand and document business processes, gather requirements, and decompose high-level requirements into detailed requirements.

Requirements

Skills/Experience

Required:
  • 1-2 years experience in a data driven environment
  • 1-2 years experience in writing SQL, MS Access Queries
  • Conversant with Crystal Reports, MS Excel, MS Outlook
  • The individual will need to display attention to detail, ability to manage expectations to complete tasks on time, ability to challenge upwards, and effectively communication with all levels of organization
  • Exceptional verbal and written communications skills.

Desired:
  • Ability to effectively translate business reporting requirements into technical requirements
  • Experience with SQL Reporting Services a plus
  • Experience gathering and documenting requirements for business systems and processes
  • Fundamental knowledge of system architectures for web-based systems
  • Ability to work closely and effectively within a client organization, while communicating clearly with project management, design, development, testing, and implementation team.
  • Experience working on web-based projects that have progressed through the full system development lifecycle.
  • Experience translating client business needs into meaningful requirements analysis, and communicating with development team.
  • Ability to quickly gather and digest domain knowledge about existing business, systems, capabilities, and limitations.
  • Ability to comprehensively document system requirements and create BRD, Process Diagrams, Workflow Diagrams, Test Scripts, etc.

Education
Required:
  • Undergraduate degree in Information Technology, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics or related field.
Desired:
  • Major in Information Technology with a minor in a quantitative or business related area.
